Hamro Events is thrilled to announce that John and the Locals, the ground-breaking band renowned for their innovative fusion of Nepali music with global sounds, will be performing live at Powerstation.  This highly anticipated concert will mark the band’s debut performance in New Zealand, offering a unique and electrifying musical experience for audiences in the region.

Formed in 2016, John and the Locals have quickly risen to prominence with their distinctive blend of traditional Nepali folk elements and modern genres. The band, led by charismatic frontman John Rai, combines traditional instruments like the sarangi and Basuri with contemporary beats, creating a sound that is both fresh and deeply rooted in Nepali culture.

Their music is characterized by its infectious rhythms, rich melodies, which have resonated with audiences around the world.

With a strong online presence, John and the Locals have amassed over 80 million views on YouTube across their music videos and live performances. Their hit singles such as “Hawa Jastai,” “K Garu,” “Nihita,” and “Samaya Lay” have garnered widespread acclaim and a dedicated fanbase. Their YouTube channel showcases a variety of content, from vibrant music videos to energetic live performances, allowing fans to engage with their music in multiple ways.
